Been a long time since I posted anything, not having the time to paint but managed to pop out a couple of rough speedies. The coloured sketch will get rendered to a finished piece at some stage.
The other is a w.i.p (work in progress), had a few suggestions from a good friend (CB) which gave it a whole new approach in a more dynamic way.
So here's the full size piece as shown in the video, if you spend another hour adding and refining the details and texture you have a much stronger, detailed piece. the more you invest the better the outcome.
So here's part two of the mountain demo (x3 speed playback), this takes you from a rough shape, colour and texture piece to a more rendered image (not a fully rendered image thou).
I simply play light against dark, vary the colour hues to add interest and help recede and bring forward different elements. I continue working backwards and forwards, you'll notice (or maybe you wont) that I stick to 50% size, this gives me enough of a detailed view but also allows me to see the whole image.
Again its basically the hard round brush (default) but some areas I need to soften with a textured brush. Add some simple atmospherics and softer edges to show a little movement, add your name and save. Add this stage (58 minutes in total-parts 1 & 2) of painting you can either leave it as a speedy or progress it to a finished render, ideally some form of focal or point of interest would be needed to make it a stronger piece but this ones just to pass on my work method.
Hope something was passed on and you enjoyed watching..............
